Pediatric Brain Electrophysiology Lab

The mission of the Pediatric Brain Electrophysiology Laboratory (PBEL) is to understand how the human brain processes auditory information (i.e. a voice) to mediate social communication and to develop and improve approaches for the treatment of drug resistant epilepsy.

The PBEL was formed in 2019 and is led by pediatric neurosurgeon Taylor Abel, MD. We are located at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh.
